The Town of Henniker seeks an experienced full-time Truck Driver/Laborer for the
Highway Department. Job duties include, but not limited to: operation of all
equipment, snow removal, equipment maintenance and manual labor. Candidates
must be reliable, a solid team player with a positive, customer service
orientation. Valid CDL class B with air brake endorsements required. Successful
candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of
trucking driving experience. The Town of Henniker offers a competitive wage and

DESCRIPTION
Truck Driver / Laborer
Highway Department
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs responsible work as part of the Highway crew or independently.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports directly to the Highway Superintendent or the Highway Foreman.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operates
all of the department’s equipment as directed.
2. Winter
storm maintenance, plows snow, and removes ice.
3. Performs
routine repairs and maintenance on all town-owned streets and bridges.
4. Performs
manual labor and heaving lifting.
5. Performs
routine maintenance and repairs on department equipment.
6. Installs
and maintains culverts and drains.
7.
Constructs roads and bridges.
8. Forms,
places and finishes concrete.
9. Operates
power and hand tools.
10. Attends
training to keep current on modern construction and maintenance technology,
as well as safety practices.
11. Practices
safety for self and others.
12. Performs
any other tasks of the department as directed.
13. Available
for call-out to meet emergency situations (pager).
14. Maintains
effective relations with the public and co-workers.

PHYSICAL EXERTION AND OTHER
CONDITIONS: Ability to perform strenuous physical work under varying
and adverse weather conditions.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid NH Commercial Drivers License,
Class B, with Air Brake endorsement.
OTHER TRAINING, SKILLS AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least two years of truck driving
experience and operation of heavy construction and maintenance equipment; at
least some experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance; carpentry skills OR
any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: High
School Diploma.
Incumbent will be subject to drug and
alcohol testing requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation, which
include but are not limited to pre-employment and random testing.
